Friend,
We are in the fight of our lifetimes, to protect the very soul of our democracy, and ensure that we leave it better for our children and their children. And at the heart of that fight is protecting the most sacred right of all - the right to vote.
In 2013, the Supreme Court effectively struck down the Voting Rights Act, and since then, Republicans have made it their mission to make it harder for people to cast their ballots - by sabotaging the postal service and obstructing vote-by-mail, closing thousands of polling places, and enacting voter ID laws to suppress the vote - especially the minority vote.
But this November, we have a chance to turn the tide, and it starts in Georgia. That's why I'm proud to endorse Reverend Raphael Warnock.
In Georgia, we have a historic opportunity to elect a champion of civil rights and progressive values, someone who will fight back against GOP-led voter suppression and restore moral leadership to the Senate.
Reverend Warnock is the senior pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Martin Luther King Jr.'s spiritual home. As someone who grew up in public housing, Reverend Warnock understands firsthand the struggles of our most vulnerable, and he's devoted his life to fighting for change. He has put voting rights at the top of his agenda, and he has the courage and integrity to inspire real progress in Washington.
But winning this battleground race won't be easy: His opponent is Kelly Loeffler (R), who you know as the senator who dumped millions worth of stock after receiving a private briefing about the coronavirus pandemic. She's poured more than $20 million of her own fortune into an effort to buy this seat, and she's got the full backing of Mitch McConnell and his massive network of right-wing donors. So Reverend Warnock simply can't fight back without support from grassroots donors like you.
The Washington Post is reporting that Georgia is key to Democrats taking back the Senate - polls show this race statistically tied - and it's vitally important to help Reverend Warnock win in November. He's truly the change that our country needs, and if elected, he would make history as Georgia's first Black senator. So please, Friend:
Will you give $5 or more - as much as you can - right now to support his people-powered campaign so we can flip Georgia blue and take back the Senate?

We were all heartbroken when Georgia lost its native son and we lost the conscience of the Congress, John Lewis. This November, Georgia has the opportunity to elect another champion of civil rights, someone who will fight the good fight and bring moral leadership back to the Senate. That's Reverend Warnock.
Thank you for joining us in this fight.
- Adam
