Folks, it isn’t easy to say this. We’re facing a serious setback.

After our primary, we set an ambitious goal to raise $1 million to start the general election. We saw an initial surge of support, but now our numbers have dropped significantly.

I’m not sounding the alarm just yet, but my finance team told me that if we can’t raise $23,852 before our next meeting in 90 minutes, we’re going to have to make some tough calls on what to cut from our budget plan based on our latest slowdown.

These aren’t just arbitrary goals. We’ve done the math to calculate how much we need to raise to launch our next TV ads, expand our direct voter contact program, and start off the general election in the position we need to win.

We can’t take a win in Ohio for granted, so please, will you chip in $50, $25, or even $5 to get us back on track?
