Republicans and Donald Trump are destroying the U.S. Postal Service to undermine mail-in voting, and they’re not even trying to hide it.
Senate Republicans and Trump oppose $25 billion in emergency funding for USPS as the cash-strapped agency continues to struggle during the COVID-19 crisis.
And Trump just admitted he doesn't want to fund USPS in order to slow down mail-in voting: “Now, they need that money in order to have Post Office work, so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots. But if they don’t get those items, that means you can’t have universal mail-in voting because they’re not equipped to have it.”
