I just said something in Washington that apparently rattled a few cages.
Good.
If the government shuts down, Senators shouldn't get paid.
And I'll tell you something else while we're here—I've seen this movie before.
Democrats may very well try to force a shutdown before the midterms because
chaos is so good for their politics. They create the mess, Republicans get
blamed, and the media acts like it's the gospel truth.
That's the game.
Now, where I come from, if you don't work, you don't get paid. Simple as that.
But in Washington, some folks think they ought to keep collecting paychecks
while the country deals with the headache they caused.
Well, that dog won't hunt.
No pay. No leaving town. Stay here and fix it.
Because if Republicans let Democrats turn this place into a circus right
before the election, we could lose this majority faster than a snowball melts
in July.
I don't intend to let that happen.
