Important thing first… Dad joke from Qasim. You can share but be sure to use #QasimDadJoke
One thing that Kamala Harris and I have in common is that we're both American Asians.
Otherwise known as Amasian.
We are Amasian.
Now, onto the update! Qasim is really looking forward to the first debate this week with Rob Wittman on Thursday. The debate is going to be about criminal justice reform and will be held at a police academy in the district. Qasim has spent much of his career speaking with activists, law enforcement officers, and county sheriffs about reforming our justice system and keeping our communities safe. He's excited to discuss his plans to ensure the safety and security of all Virginians through a criminal justice system built on rehabilitation, reduced recidivism, and voter re-enfranchisement.
And that’s not the only thing he’s looking forward to this week. Qasim will also be emceeing the Virginia For Biden Convention Watch Party on Tuesday, August 18th! The theme of Tuesday’s Convention and the Watch Party is “Next Generation of Leadership”—with a chance to hear from Qasim, Senator Tim Kaine, Delegate Jennifer Carroll Foy, Mayor Levar Stoney, and Malena Llanos.

*URGENT ORGANIZING MOMENT* We've been extremely active around broadband because we've heard from folks struggling with connectivity from Manassas to Montross. This is Qasim’s first policy release because it’s that important. Check out his opinion article in the Free Lance-Star and be sure to share with #BacktoSchool

Meet our new Digital Organizing Director!

“I’m Elissa. My husband Jason and I have lived in Prince William County for over 20 years. In the fall of 2019, we became empty nesters after our two oldest children settled into their own homes and our youngest son went off for his freshman year of college in Richmond. With the freedom to go wherever I could to fight Trump and Trumpism, in February 2020 I was hired by the Michael Bloomberg Campaign to organize voters in rural northeast Georgia. I spent a month canvassing, calling and recruiting amazing Democrats until the campaign collapsed and the COVID-19 crisis set in. In April, I began my digital organizing career working for a campaign in Arizona. Our mission was to help voters and volunteers grow grassroots power in the battleground state until the presidential candidate was announced. Now, I’m so excited to be the Digital Organizing Director for Qasim in my own congressional district!”
Please join our community of digital warriors. We are passionate about creating space for anyone committed to criminal justice reform, climate justice, humane immigration policy and any progressive reform that will turn VA-01 blue and send Rob Wittman and Trumpism packing.

Further your investment: What Tino’s trying to fund this week…
Building off of Qasim’s promise of transparency in donation requests, we are going to start telling you what our finance team is looking to support this week. Every dollar given here will go towards this ask and will be put in use immediately this week.[link removed] [[link removed]]
"All things digital!!! Big thing this week is to spend more on digital ads to get Qasim in front of new voters in the district. We’ve launched a wonderful video, Born to Be Blue. Check it out and then donate. If we could get 75 donors to step up right now, we can launch some ads this week!" - Tino
