"She seemed to be mocking us"
One Every Three Minutes Campaign
Day 8: Why did Stella Creasy do it?
Dear Pro-life Supporter
Here is a BBC news report of MP Stella Creasy parading her baby during a debate in the House of Commons earlier this summer.
Miss Creasy is pictured with her baby daughter, in June, whilst defending new abortion regulations imposed on Northern Ireland.
These regulations are radical in the extreme.
They will lead to the killing of many THOUSANDS of defenceless babies in the Province.
... and across the Irish Sea too, if this ghastly new abortion regime is “exported” to England, Wales and Scotland.
It was as though Stella Creasy was cocking a snook at all those who fought so hard against her campaign to impose liberal abortion on the babies of Northern Ireland.
The abortion “regulations” in question are part of a new abortion framework for Northern Ireland which draws from a 2018 report by the United Nations Committee for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
The CEDAW Report explicitly calls on the UK government to:
“Adopt legislation to provide for expanded grounds to legalise abortion…”
The CEDAW recommendations insist that the Northern Ireland government:
* Provide abortion “information” and “counselling”
… so that abortions could even be performed on pregnant girls in school clinics and abortion pills handed out to them on school premises.
* Ensure “affordability and accessibility” for sexual health services at hospitals, clinics and pharmacies
… so that medical professionals wishing to exercise the right to conscientious objection—by say, refusing to participate in abortions, or dole out abortion-inducing pills—will face grave difficulties.
All this begs the question “why?”
Just what motivated Stella Creasy’s, contemptible “performance” in Parliament?
I know that seeing the de facto leader of the parliamentary abortion lobby using her beautiful baby daughter as a “prop” in such a tasteless political stunt as this deeply shocked and upset many of our supporters.
“How could she do that knowing that she is stopping so many other mothers from holding their own babies?”
“She seemed to be mocking us.”
“That picture I saw of her holding her baby made me think of the Madonna & Child, it was so irreverent. Shocking. Absolutely shocking.”
“How can a mother do what she does and sleep at night?”
Making matters worse, Ms Creasy’s backing for the killing of Northern Ireland’s babies in the Commons that day was cloaked with the mantle of “human rights”.
"I respect the argument the minister is making - as does my daughter", she said, holding her daughter, whilst raising the issue of "responsibility to uphold the human rights of every UK citizen."
Abortion is NOT a human right.
On the contrary, foundational documents –such as the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) – uphold the right-to-life, no matter how young.
What motivates the killing?
It is very hard to fathom why Stella Creasy—and others connected with the abortion lobby—would deny a woman the joy of motherhood that so many testify to, even when a baby is conceived in the most difficult of circumstances.
Like unborn babies in the UK, the native Mexican people were systematically massacred in their thousands by their own rulers.
* It is said that around 20,000 people a year were sacrificed in the Aztec Empire.
Huitzilopochtli was their chief deity.
He was connected with gold, war, and rulership, so the Aztecs of Mexico thought it was important to keep him happy.
Special occasions demanded more blood – when a new temple to Huitzilopochtli was dedicated in 1487 - an estimated 80,000 people were sacrificed.
Today, fees generated from a seemingly endless government-funded abortion production line fill the pockets of abortion executives at BPAS and Marie Stopes, Britain’s two biggest abortion providers.
* Marie Stopes International’s chief executive, Simon Cooke, was paid £434,000 in 2018, a year in which he received a 100% performance bonus, when his organisation killed 4.8 million unborn children across the globe.
* The top paid employee at the British Pregnancy Advisory Service (BPAS) (currently Ann Furedi), is paid at least £170,000 a year. BPAS killed 87,000 unborn babies in the UK in 2018/19.
In Mexico, as well as wealth (gold), a fanatical desire for power over others in the political sphere was a principal reason why the Aztecs sacrificed human lives to Huitzilopochtli.
History is sadly replete with examples of large-scale blood-letting in the pursuit of, or maintenance of, political power.
When King Herod the Great realised that he had been outwitted by the three wise men from the East, he gave orders to track down and kill every boy of the age of two and under in Bethlehem and its vicinity.
The Catholic Church considers every child who died at the hands of Herod to be a Christian martyr.
The Church sets aside 28 December as a holy day in its calendar—known as the Feast of the Holy Innocents—to commemorate these victims.
Back in the early 1980s, SPUC turned to local Catholic churches for support to finance its growing work.
Traditionally, a Sunday close to the Feast of the Holy Innocents is chosen to hold the collections.
What started off with just a dozen or so church appeals in that first year grew steadily over the years and today hundreds of collections take place up and down the country.
Many of you will know the collections held in Catholic churches for SPUC as the annual White Flower Appeal.
[“White Flower” after the white rose emblem adopted by the student resistance group which opposed the Nazi eugenics programme during World War 2, and which brother and sister Hans and Sophie Scholl joined, inspired by the teachings of Christ. They were both arrested, tried for treason and executed.]
Needless to say, this funding from church collections is critical to SPUC’s work.
Over the years the Society has come to rely upon those funds to finance, amongst other things:
* Teaching young people the truth about abortion in schools
* Running conferences and other pro-life events for youth
* Facilitating a national network of around 100 branches in towns and cities across the country, thus ensuring that the pro-life message is always publicly visible.
And this year is no different.
Covid cash crisis
Ongoing coronavirus restrictions mean that many churches who have regularly supported SPUC’s work in the past are no longer in a position to do so.
SPUC’s Director of Fundraising tells me that he is anticipating a drop of £250,000 in our income in the current financial year.
This setback has made the need for immediate funding all the more acute.
A target of £50,000 was set for the One Every Three Minutes summer fundraising campaign to offset Covid losses.
Avoiding cuts to critical pro-life projects which change minds and save lives is a top priority.
Projects which are spreading the message of truth about abortion—like our work in schools and through our network of local branches.
Media work which is challenging the abortion propaganda, and quite frankly, the fanaticism exhibited by leading abortion politicians, like Stella Creasy.

With just 4 days remaining, a total of £20,100 has been raised.
“Thank you” to every single one of you who has supported the campaign with a generous donation, or set up a regular monthly gift, or has implored a friend or family member to get involved and donate.
Whenever an urgent call for your help goes out, your exceptional love for our babies (and their mothers) shines through.
What an encouragement that is.
If you’ve not yet done so, will you help protect unborn babies today?
Another £29,900 is needed to ensure that Covid-related cuts can be avoided.
The worst possible outcome is one where funding cuts leave SPUC with no alternative but to cut back its work.
This would radically diminish the strong voice for the unborn which the Society is currently communicating in the public square.
Donate NOW ([link removed])
Should that happen, the voices of abortion fanatics like, MP Stella Creasy, will quickly fill the vacuum.
Today, a monthly gift of just £10 or £15 a month would help enormously in wiping out the threat of a Covid cash crisis at SPUC this year and the grave dangers this would entail for our babies.
I know you may not be in a position right now to make a commitment on that level, this situation with coronavirus is proving crippling for so many.
One-off gifts of £10, £15 or £25 are immensely valuable and important too.
If everyone reading my email today chipped in at this level, it would even be possible to cover the entire £250,000 church collections shortfallby 9pm this evening.

Yours in defence of life
John Smeaton
Chief Executive
PS: If you can, please encourage a friend or family member to get involved and support SPUC’s work.
Let them know about MP Stella Creasy’s abominable behaviour in Parliament and how pro-life efforts must be re-doubled if the abortion fanatics are to be stopped.
Please do this TODAY. Time is running out.
