The Muslim Delegates Assembly will also feature Sen. Bernie Sanders, Rep. Andre Carson, Rep. Rashida Tlaib, State Attorney General Keith Ellison, Tom Perez, and many more (FULL PANEL)!
The Muslim Delegates and Allies Assembly was organized as a nationwide grassroots effort in partnership with a number of Muslim organizations and activists, including IMANA, AMHP, MWF, Islamic Relief, Emgage, Muslim Delegates and Allies Coalition, MPAC, MPower, CAIR, ISPU, ILMCC.
“As we celebrate our communities' rise in politics, we must continue to speak truth to the power. We must continue to fill up the spaces we were once told we do not belong to. That is the only way we can echo our concerns and change the policies in this country," said Hanieh Jodat Barnes, one of the founding members of the Women’s March Los Angeles and co-founder of the Muslim Delegates and Allies Coalition
"This election we must mobilize like we have never done before to bring out the vote in November 2020," said Nadia Ahmad, law professor and co-founder of Muslim Delegates and Allies Coalition
"With increasing efforts by Muslim Americans to politically mobilize during the 2020 presidential elections, we are pleased to reflect this through our presence at the 2020 Democratic Convention. Muslim Americans, when politically literate and civically engaged, have the potential for immense impact on American politics. If harnessed properly, we can be a tremendously compelling force within our American democracy. Harnessing this force, and subsequently, executing it in ways that maximize impact, is precisely what we hope to do...," said Wa'el Alzayat, CEO of Emgage Action.
