Hello there, it’s Rachel Vindman.

My husband, Retired Lieutenant Colonel Alex Vindman, is running for the United States Senate in Florida — and in a moment, I’m going to ask you to contribute to his campaign.

But first, let me tell you how we got here. It wasn’t an easy decision.

When Alex first told me he was considering running for office, I said no. Actually, I said a lot of words I won’t repeat here and then a loud and emphatic no. I said no for many months.

I knew the sacrifices and dangers it could mean for our family. We saw some of it firsthand when Alex testified in 2019 and was fired from the White House the day after Trump’s first impeachment trial ended.

I knew what it would mean to be put back on Trump’s radar: the personal attacks, the lies, and the death threats.

I knew that running — and winning — statewide office in Florida would not be easy.

But after months of consideration, I said yes.

Alex running for office was never part of our plan. But neither was living in a country with an immoral president who puts himself, his family, and his wealthy donors first. Neither was living in a state with an appointed senator who rubberstamps all of those terrible policies.

For Alex and me, this is not about ambition or power. This is about not wanting to look back and think we could have done more when it mattered. It is about choosing to stand up for what is right, right now.

This moment demands everything we can to fight back, and that’s why I eventually said yes. Now, I am asking you to say yes and support his campaign too.
