Explore Our First Amendment Center’s Timely Video Series on Religious Freedom [[link removed]] → Protecting Our Constitutional Right to Freely Practice Our Faith MPAC ® Pushes Back Against Congressional Efforts to Cast Islam as a Constitutional Threat
Episode 1: Qasim Rashid & Dahlia Taha on How the First Amendment Protects All of Us — Or None of Us 66 members of the U.S. House of Representatives have now joined the “Sharia Free America” Caucus, a bloc in Congress openly organizing around the idea that our faith and communities are a constitutional problem. MPAC® is meeting this head‑on by engaging these offices— refusing to let anti‑Muslim narratives go unchallenged.
Episode 2 : Dr. Jordan Denari Duffer & Sameer Hossain on Combatting anti-Muslim Bigotry and Advancing Interfaith Solidarity On May 13 th , the House Judiciary Subcommittee held the second hearing for the “Sharia‑Free America” series, doubling down on a dangerous storyline: that American Muslims are people to be watched, not Americans whose rights must be protected. This is not just rhetoric, it is an attempt to move suspicion of Muslims into the official record of Congress.
Episode 3 : Dr. Asifa Quraishi-Landes & Haris Tarin on What Sharia Is & the Right’s Weaponization of It MPAC ® worked directly with congressional offices and constitutional experts to ensure the official record reflected a substantive rebuttal grounded in First Amendment jurisprudence and lived Muslim experience. MPAC ® ’s First Amendment Center also drafted and secured a formal Statement for the Record documenting the civil rights and legal dangers of anti-Sharia narratives.
What is at stake is bigger than one community. When Congress begins normalizing the idea that a religious minority is inherently suspect, it chips away at the First Amendment for everyone. That is why MPAC® is one of the few national American Muslim organizations confronting this campaign on all fronts at once: rigorous legal analysis, direct pressure on lawmakers, and coordinated mobilization with partners across the country.

[[link removed]] Texas Has Become a Flashpoint for Coordinated Anti-Muslim Harassment
MPAC®’s Center for Security & Technology Policy is tracking an alarming rise in anti-Muslim political ads on Meta Platforms targeting communities in Texas, where elected officials and hopefuls are amplifying Anti-Muslim narratives.
Governor Greg Abbott cited the newly signed HB 4211 , a law publicly framed as banning so-called “Sharia compounds” in Texas , to pressure the City of Grand Prairie into canceling a private Eid al-Adha event at a city-owned water park. Abbott threatened to withhold $530,000 in state funding, raising concerns about the selective use of state power to target Muslim religious gatherings.
With respect to online hate, MPAC ® is in active communication with social media companies including Google and Meta.
