Dear John,
As the year of the coronavirus grinds on, feeding kids remains a monumental challenge. Unemployment is still high. The lines of hungry kids and families are still long. And whether schools will open this fall remains uncertain.
John, while this crisis is far from over, we want to take a moment to show you the impact you’ve helped make possible so far.
Thanks to you, we’ve made $27 million in emergency food grants, and as of this writing, our grantees are distributing nearly 11 million meals every day to stricken families.
In addition, we’ve helped shape national policies and program flexibilities to feed increasing numbers of children and families in need during the pandemic.
But this only tells part of the story. We’ve received scores of notes and messages of thanks from kids, families, local school leaders and others. Here are just a few:
"When it comes to feeding our kids who need it, especially in a time like this, it’s critical you have the partnership of organizations like No Kid Hungry. The money that’s coming from No Kid Hungry is actually changing lives." —John Sasaki, Local Partner, Oakland Unified School District, CA
"A dad came on his bike with his son, crying. He said, 'Gracias. Thank you. You don’t realize how difficult it has been for us.'" —Robert Cuellar, Grantee, Laredo Independent School District, TX
"You’re helping the children be able to eat. They’re still getting their meals during these difficult times. You’re making sure the children don’t go hungry." —Mary William, Grantee, Girls Club & Learning Center, MS
John, these words of thanks are really for you... We are endlessly grateful to count you among our valued supporters.
Sincerely,
|

P.S. Because of the coronavirus, 1 in 4 kids in the United States may face hunger this year. With your help, we will be on the front lines of this crisis as long as the need exists.
