Dear Transparency Advocate,

Republican, Democrat, Conservative, Progressive – OpenSecrets follows all the labels and doesn’t discriminate when tracking the money that flows through politics and policy.

The conventions and campaigns have gone virtual: face time with party leaders for megadonors and issue groups has moved online; but OpenSecrets is still tracking the billions of dollars that have already been raised and spent by candidates and outside actors. And the money keeps rolling in.

Already in 2020 we've:
* Added more than 100 million individual donations, signaling a motivated public;
* Created a database of digital political advertising to expose the sources behind attempts to influence voters online;
* Spotlighted personal financial disclosures of elected officials to flag issues with members trading on privileged information; and
* Reported on the top donors who have given $7 million to underwrite a Democratic convention that will be completely online.

As a newsletter subscriber you count on us to be reliable, nonpartisan and free. OpenSecrets was the first to digitize and make campaign finance data available to millions, and is constantly adapting. And because we maintain the most up-to-date and in-depth resources, we have the expertise to spot the trends and provide the data behind them, with new features like our candidate race and gender data.

Each week we’re grateful that you share our investigations and use our data in your own stories, research, tweets and efforts to simply stay on top of the news. Now, we need your support to keep these resources free so that reporters, academics, nonprofits, activists and the public have access to what is now the most data we’ve ever processed in a single cycle and the investigations that tell the story behind the numbers.

If you are able, please consider donating to OpenSecrets to ensure that we can deliver all of the data and robust election coverage through November.
