On a recent visit to Brown University, I asked students, “How many of you are worried about getting a job?” Every hand went up.
When I asked why, the answer was unanimous: artificial intelligence.
The AI revolution could help Americans work smarter and be more productive than ever before. Yet big corporations like Meta, Amazon, and Oracle are cutting thousands of jobs while reporting record profits.
To meet this moment, we need the boldest jobs agenda in generations. That’s why I’ve introduced the Work for America program. This plan would create over one million living-wage jobs across a range of occupations and train young people to take on high-paying AI-era jobs. Inspired by FDR’s Works Progress Administration, which critically boosted our economy after the Great Depression, this is a jobs plan built for the 21st century.
