Bergmann for Congress
Campaign Meeting

May 8, 2026

1. Call to order at 3:00p.m. by Charlotte. Pastor Dr. Ernestine Bond opened with prayer and Charlotte led in The Pledge of Allegiance.
2. Members present, Charlotte Bergmann, candidate and chair for today, Former Shelby Co. Commissioner, James Harvey, host, Carole Van Vossen Secretary, Pastor Ernestine Bond, Wayne Holcomb, Cindy Hills, additional members Darryl D. Taylor, Sebrina Greer, Jan Allen, Kiesha Bantum, Kiera McGhee-Ross, her daughter Faith, Amie Hughes. Judge Joe Brown, Riki Stone, his niece + 1.
3. New Business:

1. First item for discussion. New district designations as ordered by SCOTUS, has been passed by both state House and Senate and expected to be signed by Governor Lee this afternoon. At this point, neither Steve Cohen nor Justin Piersson will be in US District 9. Cohen is now in District 5 and Pierson will be in either District 5 or 8. Brent Taylor has declared that he is running in District 9. He has 1 week to gather and submit all paperwork that’s required.
2. Charlotte shared that she ordered a couple of RED hats. She will be wearing a red Panama hat and a fancy one for dressy occasions, because some have been critical of her red CAP.
3. Campaign strategies.

1. Need volunteers to make phone calls.

1. James Harvey will prepare a phone dialogue.
2. Charlotte will obtain a phone list of ALL registered voters in the new District 9
3. Need volunteers to spread the word on Social media

1. Charlotte or Brett, campaign manager, to contact political science majors at various colleges and universities for help with social media.

2. Charlotte reported on current schedule of events, including a phone interview at 6:15 tonight with a station in Atlanta GA.

1. When possible, at least one person will attend engagements with Charlotte.
2. Sabrina Greer volunteered to attend Bolivar mtg. Tues. May 12, with Charlotte
3. Charlotte will post on team chat, about events she’s attending.

3. Commissioner Harvey will no longer be able to host Friday mtgs as his work schedule has changed. He will contact Brett Bernard, Campaign manager, about possibly of meeting at his home.

4. Old Business: (reverse of usual order)

1. Report on use of Parks for Rallies in this area.

* Sharen Rook will report on the parks and obtain available dates & necessary permits for south Memphis area.

1. Carole Van Vossen’s report on possibility of obtaining a BB King house band, and the cost.

1. Jason Foree Band is a regular at BB King’s. Price is $500. - $2,500.
2. Team would like to hire him for Spring Tea. At $500.
3. Carole will contact him to verify his availability.

5. Next Meeting, Tentatively May 22. Place will be posted on group chat.
6. Adjournment: 5:15.
7. Agenda for next meeting

1. Sharon Rooks report on Parks and permits.
2. James Harvey, present phone dialogue.
3. Carole Van Vossen report on Band availability.
4. Charlotte update on events
