Washington politicians are really good at making rules for everybody else.
But when the government shuts down, and working Americans miss paychecks,
members of Congress still get paid.
That’s not right. It’s not fair. And it sure as heck isn’t shared sacrifice.
That’s why I introduced a resolution to stop paying senators during
government shutdowns.
And this week, my resolution cleared a key hurdle in the Senate with a 99-0
vote.
You read that right: 99-0.
Now we’re headed toward a final vote, and we need your help to keep the heat
on.

Last year, the federal government was shut down for months. Federal workers
missed paychecks while members of Congress kept collecting theirs.
