John,
In my latest ad, I show voters why I’m running for Congress.
I’ve spent my adult life-expanding access to quality healthcare in the North Country. I did AIDS and HIV work in the 90s and started a community health agency before serving two terms on the St. Lawrence County Legislature. When my time on the legislature came to an end, I never thought I’d run for public office again. But in 2015, my daughter Aida was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease-- and needed to have emergency surgery. It was terrifying-- but we were lucky, I had insurance through my job, and Aida got the surgery she needed. A month later, I lost my job, and we lost our insurance.
That’s the story I tell in our new ad. Will you make sure voters across our district hear that message? We need to raise $3,255 before midnight to fully fund the ad. Please, contribute what you can.
So in 2017, when Elise Stefanik voted to repeal the Affordable Care Act and kick 64,000 people off their insurance, people with pre-existing conditions, like Aida, I knew I had to run. I know what it’s like to fight for your child and your family.

My opponent, Elise Stefanik, has repeatedly voted against the interests of Northern New Yorkers and Americans by voting to kick millions off of their health insurance, to raise the cost of prescription drugs, and to allow insurance companies to discriminate against those, like Aida, who have pre-existing conditions.
That’s what is at stake in this election.
Please, make sure we can share our message with voters by bringing us closer to fully funding our ad before the midnight deadline. Chip in $5, $10, or more tonight.
Thank you,
Tedra
