Johh, in the midst of all the chaos, I’ve got some good news that I’d like to share. Today, the Supreme Court put the Fifth Circuit’s dangerous decision restricting access to Mifepristone on hold.
But let me be clear: the litigation is still ongoing, and the threat to reproductive freedom is still very real. That’s why I led an amicus brief fighting back against this attack on medication abortion. Banning the mailing of Mifepristone would be catastrophic, even in states like Colorado where abortion remains legal.
Mifepristone has been FDA-approved for more than 20 years. It is safe, effective, and one of the most accessible ways for patients to receive abortion care, especially for people in rural communities, people balancing work and family, or anyone who cannot easily travel long distances for care.
So when anti-choice extremists try to ban mailing the abortion pill, they are doing exactly what we feared after Roe was overturned: systematically attacking reproductive freedom piece by piece.
This decision is a win worth celebrating. But with Donald Trump and his Republican allies in the White House, this decision will definitely fire them up to continue to push their anti-abortion agenda.
As Co-Chair of the Reproductive Freedom Caucus, I take this fight personally. I will keep working to restore federal protections for abortion rights and fight back against every attack on our bodily autonomy and healthcare decisions. One of the best ways we can safeguard abortion from the Trump administration is by winning the House in November.
If you’re with me in this fight, will you chip in today to help us keep up the pressure and defend reproductive freedom nationwide? >>
Thank you,
Diana
