John, I speak from experience when I say that Coastal Virginia boasts some of the best fishing in the world.

But you don't have to take my word for it. In 2025, fishing and boating supported nearly 37,000 jobs and generated $7.6 billion in economic impact to the Commonwealth.

Virginia's economic and environmental health go hand in hand. And both depend on electing leaders who understand and accept science.

As a scientist and a nuclear engineer, I know that seeking the best available evidence leads to the best possible outcomes. In 2020, I passed a bill in the House to secure $455 million in funding to help the Chesapeake Bay recover from decades of neglect and toxic chemical exposure.

We've made significant progress since then. But the work is far from finished.

My opponent wants to turn back the clock on the science-based policies that have helped our Bay and our economy recover. I can't let that happen.
