When Trump admitted openly last week that he wants to block emergency
funding for the U.S. Postal Service in order to muck up mail in voting and
steal the elections he didn’t just let the cat out of the bag or say the
quiet part out loud ... he drew a line and dared Republicans to cross it
(and him).

Trump is commanding Republican lawmakers to join him in undermining
essential services their constituents depend on from a core American
institution – the Postal Service – AND in sabotaging our democracy.

The slowdowns and resource cutting at the Postal Service are causing
Americans real pain in their daily lives: veterans are not being delivered
their medical prescriptions, seniors are not receiving their social
security checks on time, small businesses can’t deliver goods and services
and jobs are being threatened ... and if Republicans in Congress
(particularly Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans) do not act, it’s
only going to get worse.

We need to pull out all the stops to ratchet up the pressure on Senate
Republicans BIG TIME over the next few weeks and create an undeniable
massive public backlash against the Trump administration’s efforts to
cripple the Postal Service, and we need your help.

Tens of thousands of PFAW members have already taken action to boost
pressure on Congress. Right now, we need to put some resource-intensive
strategies and more organizing heft behind our targeted efforts to win
this fight in the Senate.

This is a fight we can – and must – win, but we need to raise another
$45,000 for our campaign to Save the U.S. Postal Service by the end of
this week.

We ALL depend on the post office. And that’s especially true in many rural
areas – many of the same places represented by Republican senators.

Republican senators have sided with Trump against the Constitution and our
democracy at every turn, but this current example of Trump vs. The
American People is perhaps their clearest test yet of whose side they’ll
take – and it’s happening against the backdrop of our upcoming elections.

We know that enough Republicans publicly support funding the USPS and,
with many of their own seats at stake in fewer than 80 days, we have lots
of leverage.

To Trump and his cronies, undermining the USPS is just their latest tool
for voter suppression, rigging the election, and corrupt profiteering –
Trump’s hand-picked Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, who is aggressively
gutting post office operations and slowing mail delivery on Trump’s
behalf, himself owns millions of dollars in stock in USPS’s competitors.

But to the American people, saving the post office is about so much more …
and it’s the American people’s reliance on the Postal Service – and postal
workers – that we need to keep in focus, as Trump once again puts American
lives and livelihoods in peril for his corrupt, self-serving purposes.

discriminated against – both in the jobs it helps create and sustain and
the access it provides to all Americans.
