We’ve got a new partnership to share - and it couldn’t come at a more important moment. Open Britain is joining forces with the multi award-winning Media Storm podcast ([link removed]) .
Presented by journalists Helena Wadia and Mathilda Mallinson, Media Storm has built a reputation for thoughtful, investigative journalism that challenges disinformation, platforms underrepresented voices and asks difficult questions about the systems shaping public life.
At a time when trust in politics and the media feels increasingly fragile, we think serious, independent conversation matters more than ever.
Healthy democracies depend not just on fair elections, but on fair information, public trust, and the ability to have honest conversations about the forces shaping our politics and media. That means making space for thoughtful debate, challenging misinformation, and actually hearing from the people too often talked about rather than listened to. That’s why this partnership makes a lot of sense for us.
As Helena and Mathilda put it: “We are so excited to be partnering with Open Britain. Media Storm podcast has worked tirelessly for years to platform the people missing in the mainstream media – minorities and marginalised groups who are so often spoken about, but rarely ever spoken to.
“We have held powerful people to account, led investigations into important stories that barely get a look-in in the legacy press, and sought to eradicate disinformation in the media, episode by episode.
“When we learned about Open Britain's five missions, we knew we were in perfect alignment. Upcoming episodes will include exposing foreign interference in politics, asking how we make our voting system work for everyone, and finding out what is behind the media's obsession with 'angry young women'.
