We have some exciting news to share! As you may know, we started this journey together close to four years ago. We have done some amazing things over those years starting as just a grassroots effort with only our members’ combined passion to see our state and country become a better place. Over this time, we have functioned as an all-volunteer group with no funding other than our own wallets and donations from members, and we are so proud of all we have accomplished together! We are now excited about a great opportunity we have to take a big step forward.

Last month, our BGAA leadership council applied for a grant through CAVE (Commonwealth Alliance Voter Engagement), a Kentucky based progressive engagement group focused on developing the capacity of progressives in our state. We are happy to announce we were awarded the funding. This allows us to engage a temporary contract position to help us build a more sustainable foundation for our efforts moving forward - and really importantly, this person will help us build voter engagement here in central Kentucky for the November election.
