Friend, we wanted to bring a bit of hope to your inbox today by sharing some uplifting stories from people across the country.

A few months ago, we asked you to share stories about how people in your communities are coming together to resist and show up for immigrants.

Here are a few of the responses we received:

“I live in a small town (population 8,000) in Ohio. We organized a Know Your Rights event for February 12. Then, fearing that there would be an ICE surge in Ohio, we offered a second event. For the first, we set up 50 chairs; 130 people showed up. We expected fewer than 50 at the second event, since so many had attended the first: 220 showed up. Our local residents are desperate to help, to get involved, to volunteer.” — Steven V.

“We created food pantries to help families afraid to leave their homes. When we get a message that boxes are needed, people volunteer to help pack boxes, do shopping for perishable foods and deliver the boxes. It's wonderful to be in a community that has stepped up like this but sad that the need is there.” — Kathleen M.

“I'm a retired immigration attorney. When Trump got re-elected, I joined Indivisible East Bay’s Immigration Action Team. We have Home Depot patrols, a Know Your Rights distribution team, court watchers, and people helping immigrants in removal proceedings file for asylum. We are also preparing for food distribution if needed. I am proud to be a part of it.” — Nora P.

These stories show how people everywhere are standing with their immigrant neighbors. Every action, no matter how small, strengthens our collective power.

If you haven’t shared your story yet, we’d love to hear how your community is supporting immigrants. Click here to share.

Here’s to showing up for each other today and every day,
