John, I wanted to provide an update of where things stand right now.
No matter what happens next — no matter whether Tennessee ends up using the old maps or these new, racist maps that seek to eliminate our district’s identity — I’m still running to represent TN-09.
Our Movement fully supports the lawsuit to overturn this blatant gerrymander. We’re fighting this in the courts, in the streets, and by organizing our neighbors, because we need to make it crystal clear to MAGA Republicans that we refuse to yield.
Let’s be clear about why we’re here. We’re here because the far-right knows they can’t win fair and square.
So they’ve rigged the playing field. They’ve redrawn the board. And they’re trying to choose their voters, instead of letting voters choose their leaders.
They want to disrespect our dignity for the sake of politics. They want to roll back our hard-fought rights. And they want to manipulate our democracy behind closed doors.
I won’t stand for it, and I know you won’t either.
Whether we run in the “old” or “new” District 9, our vision for the future hasn’t changed. We’re still going to fight against xAI and other polluters for clean water to drink and clean air to breathe. We’re still going to fight to end gun violence that keeps stealing our loved ones. And we’re still going to fight a democracy that belongs to the People — not to lobbyists, special interests, and not to politicians who are terrified of losing power.
That’s why this moment matters so much. Because this isn’t just about lines on a map. It’s about whether our community gets a voice at all.
But keeping our district’s voice alive is going to take resources. That’s why I’m asking you to split $10 or more in the next 30 minutes so we can close the gap to $100,000 and keep our momentum going in this critical moment.
In Love and Service,
Justin J. Pearson
