Dear
John,

When this six-month-old donkey arrived, she was thin and dull-eyed,
having been viciously attacked by dogs. From the horrific wound on her
forehead, we could see her skull. It was clear to me that this unnamed
foal was in tremendous pain.

We knew right away that the road to recovery would be long and arduous
for her. She needed a powerful symbol to start her fight, so we gave
her a new name: Amal, which means "hope" in Arabic.

It's moments like these, when hope is critical for an animal's
recovery, that we rely on members of our Amy Bend Bishop Society
- a group of compassionate people who have committed to our
mission with monthly gifts. Will you join them today with your first
monthly gift?

The support of monthly donors ensured our medical team
could step up right away to help Amal. We cleaned her wound, provided
vital nourishment, and tended to her with round-the-clock care. Slowly
- miraculously - we saw the light return to her eyes. She
was healing. She had hope.

Today, Amal spends her afternoons ambling around our sunny clinic
yard. She's even made friends with our dogs there, a true testament to
her incredible resilience.

Join the Amy Bend Bishop Society today and you'll provide us with the
reliable funding we need to write more stories of hope and resilience
like Amal's. Give monthly, and you give working animals - and
the people who rely on them - hope.
