Dear john, According to an Ipsos poll from May 11, 86% of Americans say President Trump’s war in Iran bears responsibility for skyrocketing gas prices. Likewise, another poll found that 76% of Americans do not approve of the cost of living.  Families across the country are struggling with the rising costs of groceries, rent, and gas. But when President Trump was recently asked to what extent he is motivated by Americans’ financial situation in efforts to reach a deal to end the war in Iran, he responded: “The only thing that matters when I’m talking about Iran — they can’t have a nuclear weapon. I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation.”
