Strength isn’t abstract, friend.

It comes from standing up for one another.

It’s the neighbour who shows up to help. It’s the worker who builds a better future for their loved ones. It’s the family that builds together across generations.

Throughout last month’s by-election campaign in Scarborough Southwest, I heard the stories, challenges, and hopes for the future of people across my community, and I am incredibly honoured to now be their voice in Ottawa and to join Mark Carney and our Liberal team.

Because this is a team that believes looking out for one another is how we build a stronger Canada for all.

That’s why we’re building homes faster and supporting first-time homebuyers to make housing more affordable, creating real, paid pathways to good careers for young Canadians through Team Canada Strong, and putting more money back in your pocket with the Groceries and Essentials Benefit.

I know what it means to build a life of dignity and hard work, step by step, year after year. The steps our government is taking right now is how we’ll build a country where Canadians can get ahead – not just get by.
