I’m running because Washington needs a farmer, like me, because not all people see themselves in the stories of the founding farmers. And when I win, I will become the first Black person elected statewide in Louisiana.
Congress has plenty of lawyers, millionaires, and businessmen, but almost no farmers. If we want a truly representative democracy, everyday working people need a voice at the table.
These times are not as unprecedented as people say. We have lived through voter suppression and the disenfranchisement of people of color before, and we overcame it.
Now MAGA is fueling prejudice and resentment, encouraging people to blame their neighbors instead of the billionaire class.
We’ve been in this fight before, but meeting this moment will take bold leadership. We don’t need more polished politicians. We need everyday people who understand what it means to struggle and who will fight for liberty and dignity for all.
