Last week, we kicked off our organizing efforts around the census, reaching out to folks in person and online in our district. Here's a quick progress report on where we're at in terms of completion rates:

While we've made some headway in closing the gap, we're still behind where we need to be in each of these areas and throughout the district. Many folks that our volunteers in the field talked to this weekend don't know about the Census or what's at stake.

Getting high completion rates throughout the district is important, because it directly correlates to how much money we could receive for our schools, hospitals, and other social services. With where these numbers stand now, for example, Mount Vernon would only be able to receive $52 for these services for every $100 we could receive.

Our district is at risk of losing hundreds of thousands of dollars in critical funding for the next ten years if we don't continue to organize around the census, both in-person and virtually. Will you join us this week for a couple of hours to spread the word to NY-16 residents?
