Mental health and diabetes management go hand in hand.
|
Living with diabetes isn’t just about managing blood glucose (blood sugar), it’s about managing the emotions and stress that can build from having to make decisions to manage it, like choices about food, medication, and physical activity. This can lead to stress and diabetes burnout, meaning that managing stress is just as important to reaching your health goals as your eating plan and physical activity. |
With your support, more individuals and families can access the tools, education, and care they need to navigate both the physical and emotional challenges of diabetes. |
Your support helps the American Diabetes Association® (ADA) work to address sources of stress by: |
- Advocating for improved access to care and insulin affordability
- Providing trusted resources for diabetes management and prevention
- Supporting research that advances treatment and care and improves lives
- Connecting people with mental health professionals trained in diabetes care
