Just over a week ago, a 6-3 Supreme Court decision in Louisiana v. Callais essentially gutted Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, clearing the way for states to dismantle minority opportunity districts.
Governor Kemp has already made his intentions clear, calling for an overhaul of Georgia’s electoral maps before the 2028 cycle. They are laying the groundwork to erase senior Black voices from the South. They are coming for this seat, and for our right to be heard.
