Educating and connecting with voters on important issues.
The current healthcare system has led to unaffordable plans and confusion for most Americans and small businesses. Ironically, politicians call it the Affordable Care Act, but it has been unaffordable for most Americans and small businesses. Many counties only have two options for consumers, and our healthcare costs have only gone up over the last decade. Having worked in the healthcare industry, Niki Conforti knows we can and must do better for the hardworking people of Illinois.
To address this critical issue, the campaign's goal is to push for real reform that increases transparency in medical billing, to foster competition among healthcare systems. The impact of this approach - by driving up competition in the marketplace - costs are lowered for patients and families gain more flexibility in their coverage options. By giving families more choices and requiring transparent pricing, these initiatives will ultimately make healthcare more accessible and more affordable across our district.

------------------------------------------------------------
Informing voters on current events and how Niki plans to help them once in office.
Recently, the Wall Street Journal reported an alarming economic milestone: the U.S. national debt has officially topped 100% of our Gross Domestic Product (GDP), for the first time since 1946. This unchecked borrowing is causing our country to approach nearly $40 Trillion in national debt. We are placing an enormous and unsustainable burden on our children and grandchildren.
.
Washington's runaway debt is a direct result of the Left's radical spending agenda. Democrats, like my opponent Sean Casten, are pushing for increased spending on nonessential programs that benefit people in foreign countries, while forgetting about hardworking American families.
According to the National Taxpayers Union, Sean Casten has earned the “Big Spender” designation, for failures in reigning in wasteful spending in DC. More spending inevitably leads to more taxes. Illinoisans are already regularly burdened with higher tolls and higher taxes, and I oppose any further tax and fee hikes on our residents.
I am running for Congress because we need to curb this reckless spending and stop tax increases on working families. When elected to represent the 6th District, I will take direct action to address this crisis by:
1. Implementing Spending Caps: I will work to push for spending caps to limit the amount we add to the national debt in order to pay for the Left's radical spending;
2. Holding the Line on the Debt Ceiling: By the time the next Congress takes office, the issue of the Debt Ceiling will be back on the table. I am opposed to raising the Debt Ceiling, and I will push to curb spending and limit the debt we incur as a Nation;
3. Investigating Fraud and Abuse: The oversight committee must investigate the extensive fraud and abuse of taxpayer dollars that is currently draining our treasury.
.
We can’t tax and spend our way to prosperity. It is time for sensible solutions that protect your wallet and secure our nation's financial future.
