friend, Students and faculty at George Mason University have worked tirelessly for eight years to expose how the Koch Network is using university programs to boost their corporate profits. It is now time that the school’s Koch-funded institutes be permanently removed from the campus. The Mercatus Center uses the university’s name in the promotion of misinformation about Medicare for All and climate change. Currently, this on-campus think-tank is using the COVID-19 pandemic to encourage the permanent rollback of important regulations. The university’s Law & Economics Center has spent decades pushing a pro-corporate doctrine onto state and federal judges resulting in rulings that roll-back environmental laws and overturn protections for workers. We must demand that George Mason University place the needs of our communities over the profit-seeking of its largest donors. At the start of the fall semester, students will deliver your signature to the university’s newest President. It is time for the school’s leadership to finally take action! Tell George Mason University to remove all of its Koch-funded programs from campus NOW! We cannot allow the Koch network to continue using George Mason University’s resources and reputation to bolster a policy agenda focused on halting action on the climate crisis, weakening public education nationwide, and stripping rights and wages low from workers. |
