The DNC's August fundraising deadline is fewer than three days away, and based off the numbers right in front of me, we're no longer on track to hit our goal.

Here's why that's a problem: The amount of money we raise each month directly affects critical parts of our party's 2020 strategy, including:
-- The number of organizers and other staff we can hire in battleground states;
-- How many campaigns are able to rely on the quality of our voter data, and;
-- How many candidates, staff, and volunteers we're able to train each month through the DNC's Best Practice Institute.

In short: When we fail to hit our monthly fundraising goals, our path to victory in 2020 becomes a lot more difficult.

That's why I'm counting on grassroots supporters like you to help us get back on track so we can finish August strong. Based on my calculations, we only need 91 more people from Washington to make a donation and get our party to where we need to be. Take a look at what the DNC has on file for you this year, John:

Hitting our August goal is critical if we're going to take on Donald Trump and the RNC's massive fundraising machine, which has raised over $200 million this year alone. While Democrats don't need to match them dollar for dollar to win in 2020, we must keep pace with them each month -- and right now, we're at risk of falling behind.
