As you likely know, the Louisiana GOP has cancelled our upcoming May 16th Congressional elections. However, many critical elections are still happening. 

They thought they could create enough confusion to trick people into thinking every election was canceled. 

They created chaos, hoping people would just stay home. But they were wrong:

Their plan to suppress voters is backfiring. Not only did Louisiana turn out in higher numbers than the 2024 presidential primary, but Democrats are now ahead. 

108k Democrats to 102k Republicans. Black voters are actually outpacing white voters as far as proportion of the early vote. Not to mention that women outvoted men by more than 41k votes. 

The margins are tight, but for Louisiana, this is a historic Democratic turnout event. 

We have momentum and Democrats are showing up like our lives depend on it (they do). If you were waiting for proof that Louisiana is not a lost cause, this is it. 

We have one week to turn up the heat and get people to vote. More mailers, more texts, more door knocks. However, we are one of the least funded Democratic parties in the nation and we’ve already spent money we don’t have on making this breakthrough.
