Shark Awareness Week

Over 100 million sharks are killed every year through illegal and unsustainable fishing practices. Sharks are apex predators that play a critical role in maintaining balanced oceanic ecosystems. Healthy oceans need sharks. From the coastal waters of Africa to Central and South America, Sea Shepherd’s direct action campaigns are fighting to save sharks and prevent this senseless slaughter.

 

Sea Shepherd Signs Agreement with Peru

As part of our ongoing commitment to protect marine life in the Eastern Tropical Pacific and other biodiversity hotspots, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and Sea Shepherd Legal have entered into an official agreement with the Government of Peru. Sea Shepherd will send a ship to Peru and support efforts to establish several new marine protected areas.
