Dr. Janice Underwood serves as Virginia’s first cabinet-level Chief Diversity Officer - the first position of its kind in the nation - and leads the state’s Health Equity Task Force. We sat down with Dr. Underwood to discuss the transformative work the Northam administration and her team are doing to fight racial injustice, advance equity across many dimensions of diversity, and build equitable systems in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
