Lee Zeldin should be standing up for the people of our district and pushing for federal funds to aid New York, but instead, he’s only looking out for himself.

Governor Cuomo has joined us in holding Lee Zeldin accountable, saying my Trump-serving opponent and other NY House Republicans are “playing their own protective politics and have not called out the president.”

Last week, The Cook Political Report upgraded our chances of winning this race.

We are thrilled that Cook understands how far we’ve come already in the fight to flip NY-01. But we also know that, with only 11 weeks left in this race and national Republican groups like the NRCC and the American Action Network on notice and funneling money to prop up Zeldin, we must expand our budget so we can compete with Zeldin and his special interest backers.

Far-right groups know the president’s approval rating is underwater in our district. To make up for their failures to lead, national Republicans will invest heavily to obscure reality and prop up not only Donald Trump but my hyperpartisan opponent, too.

We need to build the budget so that when Zeldin tries to obscure the truth, we can hold his feat to the fire and show Suffolk County families that I am ready to fight for THEM in Washington.

I am relying on YOU and every member of our team who knows that families here deserve better.
