While the Supreme Court of Virginia overturned the people’s vote, I’m finding motivation in this:
We can mobilize, organize, and win.
We have 85 days to go until the primary on August 4 [ [link removed] ]. Team Salaam has not waited for the Supreme Court’s decision to act. We have been hard at work and there’s still plenty more to do [ [link removed] ].
Team Salaam has been canvassing [ [link removed] ], phone banking [ [link removed] ], hosting [ [link removed] ] and attending events in the district. Yard signs are up throughout neighborhoods and postcards [ [link removed] ] are starting up Tuesday.
These next three months are critical and we need your help to hire our field team and pay for ads.
We have come a long way
Remember this from Politico [ [link removed] ] when we launched?
Since then, we’ve received over 2,200 contributions, recruited 250 volunteers [ [link removed] ], and people recognize our campaign when we knock on doors. During the November 2025 election, this Congressional district flipped Blue. We have momentum on our side!
We have the experience fighting for the public and leading Virginia to wins that helped tens of thousands of Virginians and millions of Americans. This fuels our policies which focus on:
Medicare for all,
Taxing billionaires, and
Campaign finance reform.
