See you on October 7 No images? Click here John, Washington Conservation Voters’ Breakfast of Champions is less than two months away. We hope you’ll join us! As an extra incentive, I’m sharing our top 10 reasons to tune in on Wednesday, October 7th at 12 p.m. noon:
About the guest speakers: Join us to hear from our guest speaker, Reverend Lennox Yearwood, Jr., President and Founder of the Hip Hop Caucus. As a national leader within the Green Movement, Rev. Yearwood works to bridge the gap between communities of color and environmental advocacy. He is a leader in campaigns calling for divestment from fossil fuels causing climate change, increasing diversity in the climate movement, ensuring everyone has clean water and air, and international efforts to address he climate crisis. Rev. Yearwood is a board member of the League of Conservation Voters and we are excited to welcome him back to the (virtual) Breakfast stage after he joined us in 2015. We look forward to hearing what Rev. Yearwood has to say about the intersection between climate justice, racial justice, voting, and an open and fair democracy! You’ll also have the opportunity to meet WCV’s new CEO, Alyssa Macy, who comes to us from the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs of Oregon, where she served as Chief Operations Officer for the Tribal government. Alyssa brings a strong background in political action, social justice, and Tribal leadership grounded in a deep, personal connection to our land, water, and the communities they sustain. Please forward this invitation to your networks outside the greater Seattle area who may be interested in hearing from Reverend Yearwood and learning more about WCV’s work and the 2020 Election. I hope to "see" you there, Tina Montgomery |
