Today, the Democratic National Convention begins. And while it’s not the convention we’d originally envisioned, I have to be honest: the weight of this moment, and of the faith you are entrusting in me, is still very real. This will be a tremendous opportunity to share our vision with the whole country.

Over the next four days, you will hear from people across the country -- elected officials, community leaders, and more -- about why they’re committed to electing Democrats up and down the ballot. Kamala Harris will accept your nomination to become your Vice President. And I will accept your nomination for President of the United States.

Then, as soon as the convention ends on Thursday, we enter the final phase of this battle for the soul of the nation. The final months of this campaign won’t be easy, and we need to be prepared.

That’s why today I’m announcing our ambitious goal to raise $25 million online over the next four days. This team hasn’t let me down yet, and I know we can reach that goal -- but it’s a goal we can only reach together.
