The starting salary for the Level 2 position is ?19,171, rising to ?19,945 on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers). This equates to ?9.94/hour.

The starting salary for the Level 1 positions is ?18,426, rising to ?18,795 on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers). This equates to ?9.55/hour.

Shifts will be worked between the hours of 7:00am and 10:00pm according to a rota, and this will include weekends.

Job Purpose

The Oaks is a modern residential unit in St. Ann?s for elderly citizens with a range of needs, including dementia. Citizens may be either short term or longer term residents, depending on their identified needs and circumstances.
Care Workers at Level 2 provide safe and appropriate personalised care and support to citizens in a way that that maintains their dignity, maximises independence and gives them choice and control over the way their care is provided.
This includes writing and maintaining individual person centred care plans and the administration of medication, such as keeping accurate records of all medicines dispensed in line with legislation and departmental procedures.
Care Workers at Level 2 are also expected to work and cooperate with other professionals, as well as citizens and their meaningful others, to ensure a shared approach to care and support and continuity of care and treatment.
Level 2 workers must be able to work with a degree of independence and initiative, and be able to respond to urgent situations calmly and efficiently.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?
  1. Ability to assess social care and health needs and develop, implement, maintain and update Person Centred Care Plans;
  2. Experience of, or ability to, provide support and guidance to colleagues and to be able to deal with emergency and difficult situations;
  3. Knowledge and understanding of the rights, needs and feelings of vulnerable adults from diverse social and cultural backgrounds;
  4. Ability to administer medication in line with departmental policies and procedures.

Nottingham City Council?s Multi Systemic Therapy Child Abuse and Neglect (MST CAN) Team are looking for the ideal candidate to join our team as an MST CAN Therapist.? MST CAN is a home-based intensive treatment for families with children and young people subject to a Child Protection Plan under the category of neglect or physical harm. It is an evidenced based treatment that has been developed to work with families with complex needs, in order to increase safety and keep children at home.? MST CAN works to address specific problems and risk factors that brought the family to the attention of Children?s Social Care. The major goals are to keep families together, assure that children are safe, prevent abuse and neglect and reduce mental health difficulties experienced by adults and children and increase natural support networks.

MST CAN adopts an intensive approach (numerous sessions per week) and works with families in their natural ecology (their home, school and wider community) rather than in a clinical setting. Appointments are made to meet the family?s needs and an MST CAN practitioner is available 24/7 to all families in treatment through an on call facility.

You will have a professional qualification in a relevant field and also have experience and knowledge of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Family Therapy, and/or pragmatic behavioural interventions. Full training and continuous professional development in the MST CAN model will be provided. Therapists receive weekly group supervision from the MST CAN Manager and clinical consultation from MST Services.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?
  • Qualified to post graduate level in relevant field, e.g. social work, clinical/forensic psychology, mental health nursing/health specialism or relevant equivalent.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience of the case management process including assessment, analysis, planning and intervention and review and how it promotes good outcomes for children and families
  • Significant experience of family based interventions with young people.
  • Experience of direct use of a therapeutic model of working with families e.g. CBT, SFBT, systemic family therapy or behavioural approaches
  • Sophisticated understanding and demonstrable experience of all aspects of safeguarding and management of risk to children and young people as they relate to the work of the team.
