John,

Our national parks are in a state of crisis. While climate change puts immense pressure on these fragile ecosystems, Donald Trump is working to sell off our public lands to the highest bidder.

Look no further than the threats we’ve been warning you about facing the Boundary Waters, the Tongass National Forest, and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Due to a complete lack of leadership and blatant attacks on our environment, we currently have a vacancy at the head of the National Park Service — the agency responsible for managing hundreds of national parks and over 80 million acres of land.

We cannot allow Trump to install an inexperienced loyalist who will help him dismantle our public lands from the inside. Will you donate now to help SEEC Members continue the fight to protect our national parks? [[link removed]]

Thankfully, that nomination was defeated after even some Republicans couldn’t support it. But while that’s a victory, the fight isn’t over.

Trump has yet to name a replacement. The strategy is clear: he isn't looking for a qualified steward of our public lands, he wants a placeholder or a profiteer who will prioritize private interests over conservation.

SEEC Vice Chair Rep. Chellie Pingree has been sounding the alarm about this for weeks, expressing deep frustration over this "leadership vacuum" and calling out Trump for trying to use this position for "political patronage."

We need your help to keep holding this Administration accountable. Will you chip in today to help us fight back against these attacks and protect America’s most beautiful public lands? [[link removed]]
