URGENT: SAVE THE POST OFFICE [[link removed]]
Our postal service and our democracy are under attack. The Trump Administration and Senate Republicans are attempting to dismantle our postal service and thereby disenfranchising millions of voters who would rely on mail-in ballots to vote in their states or to stay safe during the pandemic.

Trump's newly appointed Post Master General, Republican Mega-donor Louis de Joy, has conducted a complete overhaul of the Post Office, which has resulted in no overtime pay for Postal Workers who are covering for sick co-workers during the pandemic further resulting in delayed or missing mail especially in communities of color and lower income areas. Trump has even openly admitted that he is blocking funding to USPS to block those mail-in ballots. Even worse, the Senate has gone into recess until September without signing the Heroes Act, meaning no funding for relief to working people and no funding to the US Post office.

People rely on the mail to receive paychecks, receive life-saving medication, receive food assistance, pay their rent, pay their bills, and to make sure they keep their lights on. We need to rally to protect the US Post Office and to protect our most vulnerable in our country.

Take action to protect the Postal Service! Support the American Postal Workers Union! [[link removed]]

Call the US Senate and Mitch McConnell and tell them to get back to DC and save the post office:

What is the Virginia Special Legislative Session? [[link removed]]
The Virginia State legislature typically only meets for one month in odd-numbered years and two months in even-numbered years starting in January. Legislators with a supermajority may vote to extend the session and the governor or legislators with a supermajority can call a special session to reconvene if they did not finish all of their business for the year. This year the budget was not completed during the regular session due to COVID-19 concerns, therefore the governor called a special session to work out the budget concerns as well as address issues with systemic racism in the criminal justice system in the nationwide call for reform in the wake of George Floyd’s murder.

Join the AYD HEE Caucus' Sex Ed Squad! [[email protected]]
Help out the mission to make Arlington's sexual health and relationships education medically accurate, comprehensive, inclusive, and age-appropriate! The past HEE Caucus Chair, Pablo Moulden, is seeking volunteers to help with a resolution to amend the Family Life Education curriculum in Arlington.

By changing Arlington's current sex ed curriculum to one that is mandatory and more comprehensive, it would make it age-appropriate, inclusive, and medically accurate. This would cover information about: *
Contraception
(not
abstinence
only)
*
Partner
selection
*
Reproductive
health
outcomes
*
Consent,
sexual
harassment,
and
assault
prevention
*
Positive
representation
of
LBGTQ+
related
topics
*
Gender
identity
and
sexual
orientation

If you are interested in working on this with Pablo, please email him at [email protected] [[email protected]] .
