NYTimes Headline: In Huge Blow to Democrats, Virginia Court Strikes Down House Map: The decision is a major victory for Republicans, wiping away a measure approved by voters to allow Democrats to gain as many as four House seats in the midterms.

FIRST: Virginians voted in a referendum to redraw the state’s congressional map and offset gerrymandering in Republican states — a HUGE electoral victory for Democrats in the fight to take back the House.

THEN: The Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act in Louisiana v. Callais, and Louisiana and Tennessee immediately followed by redrawing and approving maps to eliminate majority-minority districts with no public input.

NOW: The Virginia Supreme Court JUST struck down the voter-approved map in Virginia that would have allowed Democrats to even the playing field this November.

This is a MAJOR gift for Republicans and a devastating blow to Democrats in our fight to flip the House this year.

The DNC has spent the year investing in organizing nationwide, registering new Democrats, and providing state parties and campaigns with the resources they need to fight and win this year. And every obstacle Republicans throw in our way will only make us fight harder.
