** Is redevelopment rising from the dead?
------------------------------------------------------------
It is our pleasure to promote the work of limited government allies who advocate the values that HJTA stands for, including the protection of private property rights. The R Street Institute, a nationwide think-tank based in Washington, D.C., has consistently stood for these principles. They believe that private property should only be taken via eminent domain for a public use. It is important that redevelopment not just become another tool for municipalities to use to try and take your property.
The California chapter of R Street is holding a panel discussion on Monday September 9th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Claim Jumper restaurant in downtown Sacramento, located at 1111 J Street. The listed speakers have spent decades of their lives working on redevelopment issues and include R Street Western Regional Director Steven Greenhut, longtime legislator and retired judge Quentin Kopp, Chris Norby, the founder of Municipal Officials for Redevelopment Reform (MORR) and Bob Naylor, former Assembly Republican leader.
The event is FREE, and complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks will be provided. R Street requests that you RSVP by going to: rstreet-redevelopment.eventbrite.com ([link removed]) .
Sincerely,
Jon Coupal
President, HJTA
