My name is Julia, and I’m a Digital Strategist on Team Tom. I read all of the emails that you send, and we’ve seen how concerned you are about the targeted attack on the United States Postal Service by Donald Trump and his administration.

This week, Mr. Trump himself said the quiet part out loud. When asked about states that are requesting proper support for universal mail-in ballots, he said, *“They need that money in order to make the Post Office work so it can take all of these millions and millions of ballots. But if they don’t get those two items, that means you can’t have universal mail-in voting, because they’re not equipped to have it.”*

The statement comes on the heels of information from USPS employees that management is removing mail-sorting machines from offices around the country — equipment that sorts 24 million pieces of mail daily. The states with heightened warnings from the USPS about the possible delay of mail include Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, Texas — states that are key to the electoral map.

It is clear that Mr. Trump and his lackeys do not want the majority to have their vote counted in November and they will do whatever they can to claim victory. *Will you add your name to our petition to save the United States Postal Service?* ( [link removed] ) *

In May, Donald Trump appointed Republican donor Louis DeJoy to Postmaster General at a time when the USPS was already struggling. Instead of providing any assistance to this key American institution, DeJoy announced deep cuts to essential programs, undermining the post office’s ability to do its job.

*Trump is trying to steal this election. This is corruption, plain and simple.*

Since I joined Team Tom, I’ve witnessed the tremendous effort that USPS workers put in every day. In 2018 when Need to Impeach wrote 1.5 million notecards to voters, I spent every day at the post office. The workers there could not have been more generous, diligent, and critical to the success of that program. The USPS employs over 600,000 workers across the country, who are all dedicated to their jobs and ensuring that mail gets delivered on time. *Now, Trump and his corrupt Postmaster General are actively trying to undermine these workers and the important service they provide.*

More Americans than ever are registering to vote by mail because of the pandemic, and we must ensure that their ballots are received and counted on time — that means making sure the USPS can do its job. It is key to our democracy.
