Team, we think it’s a simple enough idea: folks working full-time jobs should be able to live off their wages. However, that’s not the reality of millions of Americans working jobs that pay dramatically less than their cost of living. We need to demand that Congress enact a living minimum wage of $15 per hour!!

We’ve seen the consequences of low wages as millions of Americans who were living paycheck-to-paycheck face evictions due to the pandemic. These circumstances are extraordinary, but the fact is:

CNN, 2018: “Nearly a quarter of Americans have no emergency savings”

Even two years before this pandemic hit, millions couldn’t afford to build emergency savings. We could have been more financially prepared if Americans were making living wages, all along. We need to stand up and demand structural reform to our economy to make it more fair and equitable for all.
