Dear John

It's been almost 10 years since Pauline Hanson returned to Parliament as a Senator for Queensland and - in her first speech - warned about the encroachment of political Islam in Australia.

Just like her first speech in 1996, it forecast developments that have since come to pass in other countries and threaten to be repeated in our own country: segregated communities harbouring ancient hatreds, exclusion and division, constant internal conflict and violence. Others have already come to pass: antisemitism and terrorism.

This week - as Australians learned a number of 'ISIS bride' terrorists were coming back to Australia - Pauline warned the Albanese Labor government about its politically motivated, fear-driven coddling of Islamic extremism and how this was complicit in the rising antisemitism which led to the atrocity at Bondi in which 15 Australians were murdered in the name of radical Islam.

“The testimony from Australians at the Royal Commission has been shocking,” Senator Hanson said. “The antisemitism these people have experienced seems little different to what German Jews experienced in the 1930s.

“Tony Burke is so scared of losing the Muslim vote in his electorate he’s allowed himself and the Albanese Labor government to be held hostage by political Islam. This fear has been perverted into a form of Stockholm syndrome – Labor continues to coddle political Islam and antisemitism.

“Burke allowed a known antisemitic extremist influencer to enter Australia, only cancelling his visa after the media exposed it. Labor has denied visas to elected members of the Israeli legislature. Labor has a strong record of placating extremists calling for genocide against Israelis. It hasn’t even implemented the recommendations of its own token ‘special envoy to combat antisemitism’ and wouldn’t even appoint her without also having an ‘Islamophobia’ envoy.

“Tony Burke has effectively rolled out the welcome mat for the ‘ISIS bride’ terrorists despite the clear threat these people represent, all the while denying he was providing any assistance at all.

“Labor has no conviction on this issue, nowhere to hide, and no plans to make Australians safer against the ideology of political Islam. Many Australians have been killed in the perverted cause of this ideology, the very existence of which Labor cannot even bring itself to acknowledge.

“This ideology has no place in Australia. It goes against principles on which our nation was founded: the rule of law; freedom of speech and religion; secular democracy.

“This ideology has no room in the world for anyone who doesn’t submit to it. Labor has submitted without even realising it. Australians must wake up before Labor submits the nation.”
