John,

Pearland, Texas just elected Quentin Wiltz as Mayor!

He’s the first Democrat to hold the office in decades.

This happened In Brazoria County — one of the toughest places in Texas for
a Democrat to win.

The margin was just 263 votes.

Beto, Aimee and our Powered by People team have been working in Brazoria
for years. Just this past January we traveled to Pearland to meet with and
support great Democrats like Quentin. They don’t get the big money from
national donors or the attention of most political organizations. But
that’s exactly why Powered by People chooses to be in places like
Brazoria. This is another sign, after Taylor Rehmet’s win earlier this
year where he swung a district 31 points in Tarrant County, that something
big is happening in Texas.

We don’t know what November will look like yet.

But we know what we’re going to do between now and then: We’re going to
keep showing up. There is no county too red or too blue. We’re organizing
everywhere in Texas, in places that the establishment has all too often
written off.
