With another busy month of summer behind us, we wanted to update you on the work Pete and the team have been doing throughout August: 


After Pete worked to designate the Indiana Dunes National Park as our nation’s 61st national park, Northwest Indiana communities are starting to gear up for a boost in tourism and the local economy. Learn more about Indiana Dunes National Park here.


To protect our vital economic infrastructure, Pete announced over $200,000 in grant awards from the Department of Homeland Security for the Port of Indiana -- Burns Harbor. The Port Security Grant Program will provide critical infrastructure support for the Port, which plays an integral role in our region’s economy. Read more about the grant here.


As Chairman of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, Pete increased funding for military support programs in the House appropriations bill. Pete will always support our service members and their families. Add your name to stand with Pete in support of our troops. >>
