Welcome to The Agenda (yeah - THAT agenda), your weekly update on what's happening in the LGBTQ political world. Whatever you do, don’t forward it to Mike Pence. He doesn't need to know what we're planning! Forward it to a friend instead.

Overview: Suggested long weekend plans, Montana race heats up and more!
FEEL THE PETE WAVE
New polling alert: Donald Trump trails the top five 2020 Democrats. Mayor Pete leads Trump by nine points.
More good news for Mayor Pete: he’s outraised the rest of the Democratic field in New York. To quote Victory Fund President & CEO Mayor Annise Parker, “the early core has been the LGBTQ community.”
Mayor Pete also sat down with Bustle for an in-depth dive into several proposed policy plans, including college affordability, reproductive freedom and more. Read the full article here.
BIG SKY COUNTRY
Meet Bryce Bennett, one of our newest Game Changer endorsements! Bryce made history as the first openly gay man elected to the Montana legislature – and now, he’s running for Secretary of State.
We’re not the only ones who are ready to make history in Montana: Democratic Association of Secretaries of State is now involved in Bryce’s race and ready to take the seat.
And Bryce is ready to take on the challenge: he outraised his opponent last quarter, giving him a solid headstart.
Still not convinced? Let Bryce himself convince you. He sat down with MT Lowdown to highlight his numerous legislative achievements and the long campaign ahead. Listen to the whole interview here.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, TAKE ACTION!
If you’re looking for Labor Day weekend plans, we have a couple suggestions:

2019 will determine who controls the Virginia legislature, and right now anti-LGBTQ legislators have a two-seat margin. If you’re in the DMV area, consider campaigning for LGBTQ incumbents and candidates this weekend!
In the New England area? Perhaps a road trip is in order. According to a recent email blast, Victory Fund candidate Hélène Vincent and campaign staff are stuck in bed with a cold. They’re currently looking for volunteers to knock doors in their stead: sign up to help here.
Looking for something a little less intensive? Two great weekend reads we recommend:
Game Changer Dan Baer’s recent op-ed on how U.S. Senator Cory Gardner’s record has blocked efforts to end violence against women; and
A recent survey accessed what it’s really like to be the Mayor of a city. The results may surprise you.
